ATPL(A) Book Bursary

April 26, 2023

Today, to celebrate World Pilots’ Day 2023, we’re announcing the launch of our first Book Bursary for aspiring commercial pilots.

We’re excited to be able to offer 5 complete sets of our best-selling ATPL(A) theory books on our new eReader platform. (You can access the eReader platform on any device via an iOS app, android app or web browser – we recommend Chrome. Read more about the new eReader platform here.)

At Padpilot we are passionate about aviation theory! We eat, breathe and sleep it. But we know not all trainee pilots feel the same way about studying the technical knowledge needed to be a pilot.

To become a commercial pilot, students must study and pass exams in aviation theory, often called ‘ground school’ or ‘ground training,’ as well as undertake practical flying training. In commercial training, there is a huge amount of knowledge to understand and assimilate, and we know that some aspiring pilots worry about this aspect of their course.

We say, don’t!

It may be daunting, but our books help bring the theory to life and explain things in a simple, straightforward way. All the colourful, interactive content alongside the text really helps you understand what you’re reading. There are also study aids and quizzes throughout to help you revise and prepare for the exams. Yes, you will have to put a lot of work in. But your future career will be worth it, and the books make studying for the ATPL exams as easy as it can be.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer these bursaries and help some aspiring pilots gain their theory education. ATPL ground school can be demanding, but building a really solid foundation of knowledge and understanding is essential for every aviator”.

Graham Cownie, CEO.

Just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your books and resources. I’m currently an ATPL student and my flight school uses your books. It’s clear how much effort the team has put into producing these books - the diagrams, 3d models and mini videos are all amazing and really do help us get a good understanding of the sometimes complex systems. It’s amazing how this content has been incorporated into the books, as well as the added features such as the quizzes at the end of each chapter. I also had the pleasure of meeting two members of the team at the Berlin show. They were incredibly kind and open-minded when I gave feedback on potential developments as to how the industry can improve the way the course is taught. Keep up the good work.
