I had wanted to fly from a young age, but was told by a careers advisor that because I had history of asthma as a child I wouldn’t be able to be a pilot.
Arriving into Larnaca Airport for a family holiday, aged 8, I remember walking out through the doors of the old terminal and knowing, in that exact moment, that I wanted to be a pilot.
I became a teacher, but had wanted to fly from as early as I can remember.
I didn’t have the confidence to pursue my dream at first; not being the most academic, struggling with mathematics, and lacking finances. Becoming a pilot felt like an unattainable goal.
