International Day of Education 2019

January 24, 2019

Today is the first ever International Day of Education. And in aviation terms, education is very close to our heart at Padpilot.

In this industry, we talk about ‘pilot training’ a lot, but pilot ‘education’ is what really drives us. Smarter.Education is our strapline and our philosophy. We want to help student pilots understand the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’ of aviation theory. In order that understanding, as well as knowledge, begins to be embedded right from the beginning of a student pilot’s training.

We recognise that airlines want pilots with more than simply the knowledge required to pass the ATPL theory exams. An intelligent approach to the operation – and the ability to navigate unexpected challenges – is a vital part of being flight crew. And it’s paramount we begin to teach those skills during the ground school phase.

There are no shortcuts to experience, of course, but get the foundations of initial pilot training right and you create flight crew who are truly airline ready. Ready for type training and ready to continue building skills and experience throughout their flying career.

Understanding alongside knowledge; education alongside training.
The foundation on which that experience is built matters. That’s why we create advanced theory materials inspired by evidence-based training. With relevant case studies throughout the text, threat and error management flags included and plenty of animations and interactive 3D models, the subject matter is brought to life, resulting in better engagement and long-term knowledge retention.

Our manuals are designed to build a holistic understanding of theoretical knowledge within the context of the modern airline industry. These portable, digital books are always up to date and contain the optimal level of detail both for exam success and operational knowledge.

Along with the focused instruction students receive at our partner schools, our manuals deliver exceptional results, both in exams but also, later, on the flight deck.

Understanding alongside knowledge; education alongside training. Everything we do is devoted to that aim.

Your books are helping me a lot! I came here from hard copy Bristol ground school material. I felt like I was in a cave for some years. And now I meet civilisation.
