It’s our policy to collect no information about you for commercial purposes. We only collect information when it’s necessary for the purpose of tracking your educational performance and your progress through courses and books. We do not share information with 3rd parties – except the ATO with whom you are registered. If you have questions about deleting or correcting your personal data please contact our support team.
Unlike most website owners, we don’t collect information about you when you visit this website! We’re not interested in collecting or exploiting your information. The only purpose of our website is to provide you with the information you need to find out more about Padpilot and what we do. If you fill in the contact form then we will record only those details necessary to respond to your query.
Users of Padpilot Learning Management System (‘Padpilot ACE’)
Whenever you login to our learning management system (‘Padpilot ACE’), by whatever means, we track some information about you. Clearly, when you take tests we need to track and store information about your performance. Your responses, your scores, the number of times you took a test etc. are all associated with your name and ATO. Selected Padpilot employees responsible for customer support have access to this information. We also share this information with your ATO so that they can track and record your progress throughout the course. Before we do this, we ask for your permission. If you don’t explicitly grant permission, then you won’t receive LMS login credentials from us. The information we collect and store about you on Padpilot ACE is used solely for the purposes of tracking your performance on tests, and your progress through the course.
Users of Padpilot’s (Apple) iBooks
Whenever you click on a Quick Quiz button, located at the end of each chapter in some Padpilot iBooks, you are taken to an online site which presents you with the appropriate quiz for the chapter. This site is run by a 3rd Party (BookWidgets). Information about the quizzes you take is available to Padpilot’s customer support team but we use it for no other purpose than to help you if you encounter problems using the quizzes. We do not share this information with your ATO.
Whenever you click on the ‘Press to Record Your Study Time” icon at the start of a chapter we record timing information associated with your student ID on our proprietary management and reporting system (the ‘iMRS’). This information is available to Padpilot’s customer support team but we use it for no other purpose than to help you if you encounter problems. We also send this information to your ATO so that they can record the time you have spent studying. This is necessary because most Civil Aviation Authorities, including EASA, require your ATO to provide evidence that you have studied for the requisite number of hours. When using this facility, no other information about you is collected.
Users of Padpilot’s (Kitaboo) E-Reader App
Padpilot’s E-Reader App (powered by Kitaboo) has extensive analytics to record information about how you read a Padpilot eBook. This includes such things as the time spent reading a page, the videos you watched and the interactions you engaged with. This information is collected whenever you use the IOS, Android or Web version of our E-Reader. Most of these analytics are available to Padpilot’s customer support team but we use them for no other purpose than to help you if you encounter problems. If you are a student with one of our partner ATOs, then we also share this information with your ATO so that they can record your performance and progress. This is necessary because most Civil Aviation Authorities, including EASA, require your ATO to provide evidence that you have studied for the requisite number of hours.
